OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW

Sure hope you're enjoying the holidays with family and friends as you make memories to wrap up the year and begin a new one. As Christians, we have an awesome reason to celebrate -- God's gift to us --- His Son. Jesus brings us joy that the world can not comprehend.

As we enter the New Year, may we come face-to-face with a Jesus who has never stopped whispering His life-giving invitation, "Come." My prayer for you is that we will learn to quiet the noisiness of our busy lives and respond to Jesus' invitation so that every day becomes fresh, full of life and endless joy.

Within the Education Ministry here at West-Ark there are many opportunities for you to grow closer to our Lord and Savior in "Year 2000: Spiritual Success or Distress?" This Sunday, January 2, begins a new quarter for our adult Bible classes as we begin the study, "God's Son Was A Servant." Each Sunday morning all adult classes will be studying the same material and everyone will have a study guide. If you haven't been in the habit of attending a 9:30 a.m. Sunday class, the start of a New Year is an excellent time to turn that around.

And for those of you who are teaching our youth on Sunday mornings, there has been a request to have an adult Sunday evening class especially for you. This will be a pilot class to determine interest and will use the same material as the morning class. It will be taught by Ted Edwards beginning this Sunday evening, Jan. 2, 6:00 p.m., in Room 203.

A reminder for the Sunday morning adult teachers and co-teachers -- Buster Herren is leading a teacher prep class for us Sunday afternoons at 4:30. Without a doubt, this will enhance and intensify the depth of our Bible classes as we study and think together.

Also, beginning in this new year of 2000, all Junior and Senior High Bible classes will be moved to the upstairs of our new FLC. This means that on Sundays and Wednesdays (beginning this week) all 7th - 12th graders will meet in the Family Life Center for Bible class.

One more thing, unrelated to Sunday morning Bible classes … If you have an interest in becoming a Small Group Facilitator for the West-Ark Small Group Ministry, the Leader Training Class will begin Wednesday night, February 2.

See you in Bible Class!
