1. Jesus Christ has complete authority in religious matters.
  2. Jesus placed that authority into his spoken Word.
  3. Jesus passed that Word along to the apostles by the Holy Spirit. They wrote it down, it has been preserved in the New Testament, and it will judge us in the Last Day.
  4. The New Testament is sufficient.

  5. THE WORDS OF GOD MUST BE RESPECTED.
    1. The New Testament speaks.
      1. "And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." -- Matthew 15:9
      2. I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. -- Galatians 1:6-8
      3. Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. -- II John 9
      4. For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book. And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. -- Revelation 22:18-19
    2. The Old Testament speaks.
      1. Adam & Eve.
        Gen 3
      2. Nadab and Abihu.
Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. -- Leviticus 10:1-2
