On Sunday Night, December 7th, our teens and their parents met together for a special worship hour. It was the final chapter in our True Love Waits class that we had been going through for the previous 12 weeks. We focused our singing on songs that expressed our commitment to God. Our parents read several scriptures that speak to them and their responsibility as a parent to raise their children according to God's plan: Deuteronomy 11:19, Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:1-4. Then our teens read several scriptures that command them to be pure and holy in all walks of their lives: Exodus 20:12, I Corinthians 6:13-20, I Thessalonians 4:1-8, Phillipians 4:8.
After a time of singing and scripture reading, our teens made the choice to sign commitment cards that they would later present to their parents. These cards show their commitment to be sexually pure until the day they enter a marriage relationship with the person God has chosen for them.
We closed the night with a prayer asking God to honor all of the commitments that were made as a result of our 3-month period of studying God's word and His will for our dating lives. We had a fellowship immediately afterwards. Below are some of the pictures from our special night on December 7th.
