Crosswalk Youth Rally has been a blessing to teenagers and adults in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri for over 10 years now. Crosswalk was started by Youth Ministers from West-Ark in Fort Smith, Robinson Avenue in Springdale, and the Southside congregation in Rogers, AR.
The first two years Crosswalk was hosted by the Robinson Avenue congregation in Springdale, AR. The third year it was hosted by the Southside Congregation in Rogers. We hosted it at West-Ark for 5 years. And now it has returned to the Southside Congregation for the past 3 years.
This rally was designed to encourage teens in our immediate area to live their lives to the fullest in honor of Jesus Christ. The rally takes place in September each year, only weeks after school has started. We always want to remind the teens that they live in a mission field every single day.
Our theme in 2004 was "Shine" and our key passage was Ephesians 5:8 which reads, "For though your hearts were once full of darkness, now you are full of light from the Lord, and your behavior should show it!" (N.L.T.) The New American Standard reads, "For you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light."
Thank God for His vision and for creating a weekend like Crosswalk. Over the past 11 years, more than 3,000 people have gathered together for classes, sermons, and periods of worship that have reminded us who our God is and what our mission is as His disciples. To God be all the Glory for the lives He has changed as a result of weekends like this!
