West-Ark Youth
Christmas Party

December 19, 2004

On Sunday, December 19th, 65 of our teens and families spent the afternoon and evening enjoying our annual Christmas Party. We started with a Christmas movie to get us in the mood. Then we went to Chuckee Cheese Pizza for food and fun. But the highlight of the night definitely came during our worship hour. We returned to the building for a special devotional from the book of Mark that focused on the importance of realizing how blessed we are and how important it is to give to others.

The teens didn't know it, but part of the money they donated for the Christmas Party went to buy presents for 4 children who didn't have anything for Christmas this year. We loaded up over 75 people (the Lions for Christ also joined us) and we drove over to the family's house. I saw the daughter peek out the window, and when she saw the crowd of people walking up to her front door with their arms full of presents, her eyes got as big as silver dollars. We met all of the family members and told them why we were there. They were totally surprised and the looks on their faces made it all worth it. We sang them "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and wished them a happy holiday season from the West-Ark Church Family.

It was a great night that continued on past 10 p.m. with lots of food, laughter and games, but the highlight of the night was definitely the trip to the Martinez House. What a blessing it is to give! Thank God for all of our many blessings. They are simply too numerous to count.
